Daily Update 2
Hi everyone! Today's update is live, and this time it brings something we're really excited about: your shop now has its own web page on the internet. We also fixed a number of the bugs you reported and reworked a few screens and sounds.
Your shop now has its own website!
As a team that has been building websites for years, we wondered: what if the shop you build in a business sim had a real storefront out in the real world too? That idea led us to add a website integration to Biztopia.
- Every shop gets its own page and link on biztopiagame.com.
- The page shows your shop's name, your logo and your reputation.
- The products you sell are listed with their prices and stock levels. Whenever you change a price in the game or your stock goes up or down, the page updates by itself.
- Share your link with friends and show them the business you've built.
- To open your page, just press the new My web profile button right next to your money on the tablet. You can also open it from Tablet > Company > View site.
- If you'd rather not have it, you can turn it off with one click in Settings > Game.
This is only the beginning. Who knows, maybe one day an order placed on your site will instantly become an order in the game? Wouldn't that be something different? Tell us your ideas in the comments!
New and improved
- The ATM stock market screen has been redesigned. You can see every buy and sell with its day, time and price, and keep track of your average cost and profit/loss. The "Hold" badge is easier to read too.
- You now get a warning when a product's popularity drops and it stops selling.
- Workers on free tasks now also stock pallet items into empty shelf spots between delivery runs.
- Stockers now tell you which shelf is needed when products are still in their boxes.
- In voice chat, a warning now appears if your microphone can't be found, isn't working or is blocked by Windows. If the connection drops, the chat reconnects by itself.
- The camera in the clothing store is closer now, and your character is shown full length while trying on clothes.
- A new hint reminds you to hold the key to talk in voice chat.
- The "Mark all read" button in the activity panel now shows the LB icon only when you play with a controller.
- The popularity warning is now translated into every language.
- Traffic lights in the city now clearly show which color is lit, by day and by night.
Bug fixes
- Fixed vehicles stumbling and sliding sideways when leaving a curb at an angle.
- Fixed some workers standing idle while orders piled up after the warehouse was rebuilt.
- Fixed warehouse workers freezing in place when their starting point became unwalkable.
- Boxes headed for full delivery pallets no longer drop onto the top of the stack; they are delivered once there is room on the pallet.
- The packing table step in the tutorial now completes when you buy the table, and it now explains that the table arrives in a box.
- The rental vehicle's "Open the rear doors or tailgate first." warning now goes away once the rear door is open.
- Fixed the view sometimes not changing when clicking a tab in Tablet > Company.
- Fixed an error when grabbing and releasing the fuel pump nozzle.
- The settings file is no longer re-read needlessly every time the mouse moves.
Visual fixes
- The back and sides of the toy kitchen are no longer plain white: they now have a clock, appliances, a window and cabinet doors.
- The Chocolate Cake slice and the Birthday Cake on the shelf are now sized in proportion to the products next to them.
- The railing pipe on the west bridge now turns with a smooth bend and ends neatly at the last post.
- Fixed the fuzzy edges on city curbs.
- Street props and building details (window sills, balcony railings) now show fully from farther away instead of popping in as you get closer.
- Fixed close-up flaws on bread, chips and butter.
- Fixed overlapping containers in the port's container stacks. The port ship's windows are now proper rectangular panes, and the stray white triangle on its red hull is gone.
- Closed the light yellow-green strip and gap at the corner and end of the warehouse wall.
- Removed the satellite dish floating in the air in the mechanic's yard, and the Mechanic Zone text on the ground is readable now.
- The toy wholesaler's ceiling lights now give off warm light at night.
Interface and languages
- In Arabic, map and HUD labels now read in the right direction with properly joined letters.
- In German and French, long place names and buttons on the map screen no longer overflow.
- In Japanese and Korean, the button text on the map card stays on one line, and amounts on the tablet home screen no longer wrap.
- In Polish, product names in order rows are no longer cut off, and in Russian the Orders buttons now fit.
- The Orders notification no longer covers the last row and its badge.
Sound
- Buying in the tablet store now plays a sound, and a warning sound plays if the purchase is declined.
- Getting in and out of vehicles now plays a door sound.
- Opening a box now makes a sound, and the warehouse shutters can be heard as they open and close.
- Register, order, phone, door, delivery, port, mechanic, tablet and gas station sounds no longer sound exactly the same every time; they vary slightly.
- Repeating sounds playing at once in crowded scenes are now limited (workers' smoke sounds included), so the sound mix stays clean.
Thanks for your feedback! If you spot a bug, keep telling us on Discord or in the Steam discussions.
